2009 CDGA annual meeting highlights

The 2009 CDGA annual meeting was held Tuesday evening, February 10, at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club.

Decisions made at the meeting include:

1. Canyon Ridge Club and Resort was accepted as a new member of the Chattanooga District Golf Associaton.

2. The Chattanooga Men's area golf schedule was approved as posted on this website.

3. The 2009 Men's Metro will be held at Cleveland Country Club July 10-12. Entry fee for this year's Men's Metro will be lowered $20 ($70 plus cart fees). This is being done in hopes of increasing participation.

4. The quarterfinals of the CDGA Four Ball Match Play tournament will be held at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club on Saturday August 15, and the semifinals and finals will be held at Black Creek Club on Sunday, August 16.

5. Officers remain the same for the upcoming year - Richard Keene - President, Jeff Craig - Vice President, Sam Woolwine - Secretary, and Mike Jenkins - Treasuer.

6. Officers reported the CDGA donated $1,000 to First Tee of Chattanooga, $1,000 to UTC Golf Program, $1,000 to Classic 150, and $2,100 to area high school golf programs ($150 to 14 different schools) this past year. These monies are rasied via Men's Metro.

7. Both the Brainerd Invitational and the Signal Mountain Invitational will use the Stableford point system in their flighted divisions (same point system used by Industrial League). The championship divisions of both tournaments will remain stroke play.

8. The TGA State Amateur will be held this year at The Honors Course, August 4 – 7.

9. The CCC Invitational will be played at Cleveland Country Club, August 8 – 9. It was moved to August to enable CCC to host Men’s Metro in July.
