The 2007 CDGA annual meeting was held Tuesday evening at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club.
Decisions made at the meeting include:
1. Cleveland Country Club was accepted as a new member of the Chattanooga District Golf Associaton. Cleveland area residents who belong to or play regularly at any CDGA club are now eligible to participate in the Chattanooga Men's Metro and CDGA Four Ball Match Play tournament. Also Cleveland Country Club will be added to the rotation for hosting the Chattanooga Men's Metro.
2. The Chattanooga Men's area golf schedule was approved and is posted on this website.
3. The 2007 Men's Metro will be held at Brown Acres Golf Club July 6-8.
4. The quarterfinals of the CDGA Four Ball Match Play tournament will be held at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club on Saturday August 18, and the semifinals and finals will be held at The Honors Course on Sunday, August 19.
5. Officers remain the same for 2007 - Richard Keene - President, Jeff Craig - Vice President, Sam Woolwine - Secretary, and Mike Jenkins - Treasuer.
6. It was reported in 2006 the CDGA donated $1,000 to First Tee of Chattanooga, $1,000 to UTC Golf Program, $1,000 to Classic 150, and $2,250 to area high school golf programs ($150 to 15 different schools). These monies are rasied via Men's Metro. Thank you for your participation - we could not support these great causes without your participation.
7. It was decided that beginning in 2008 the CDGA will add six at-large directors to the board. These directors will be amateur golfers, and must be members/regular players at a CDGA member club. These at-large directors will be appointed in February, 2008 by current CDGA officers and will serve a term of three years. If you have an interest in being considered as a CDGA director please contact one of the above officers.
